The value of light and dark: Value defines the different areas of light and dark in a picture. The space in between is a negative area that helps our eye distinguish shapes and forms. The light and dark in a picture creates the perception of depth for the viewer.
Stippling: 2018
What is stippling?
Stippling is the process in which you create an image using only small individual dots, creating different levels of depth by placing the dots either closely together or farther apart.
For my stippling, I used a gridding technique and used a real life photo to copy onto a smaller paper using a small pointed pen.
My model image I used was a lighthouse.
